SPEECH STUDENTS SHOWCASE TALENT

TIFTON- Nineteen students representing the top speaker from each of the Communications 1000 and 1100 classes participated in the recent Lew Akin Speech Showcase at Abraham Baldwin College.

The showcase is named for former ABAC professor Lew Akin and was established in 1969. Akin served as division chair of Humanities from 1975-1991.

Those who participated were Scott Barron, an agriculture communication major from Woodstock; Brent Brock, a business administration major from Valdosta; Cameron Carter, a civil engineering major from Willacoochee; Katie Davis, an early childhood education major from Tifton; Charisa Demott, language major from Moultrie; and Sam Drew, a business administration/law major from Tifton.

Other participants included Pam Ellenburg, a special education major from Ashburn; Laura Evans, a communication disorders major from Cochran; Courtney Floyd, a communication major from Tifton, Abraham Fulmer, a foreign language major from Covington; Jessica Gandy, an early childhood education major from Lenox; Wes Gay, a political science major from Leesburg; and Kip Gill, a pre-medicine major from Tifton.

Other students included Lindsey Godfrey, an agriculture education major form Tifton; Lindsey Mann, a nursing major from Gadsen, Ala.; Kim Myers, an early childhood education major from Lenox; Evan Robinson, a history major from Moultrie; Amber Williams, an early childhood education major from Moultrie; and Josh Williams, an agriculture major from Naomi.
