FACULTY CHRISTMAS CONCERT ON DECEMBER 5
TIFTON- The fifth
annual Faculty Christmas Concert will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the
Chapel of All Faiths. The concert is free to all faculty, staff, their
children, and the ABAC students. President
David C. Bridges will give the opening address.
ABAC students Meagan Royal, alto; and
Joshua Taylor on guitar will perform Jesus,
Jesus Rest Your Head by John Jacob Niles. ABAC faculty member Wayne Jones,
bass-baritone, will sing Sweet Little
Jesus Baby by Robert MacGimsey, accompanied by Greg Millette.
The audience will then be invited to
participate in a holiday sing-a-long of all the Christmas classics, including
“Joy to the World” and “The First Noel”.
Dr. Susan Roe, Director of Voice at
ABAC, will follow the sing-a-long by performing Adolphe Adam’s O Holy Night, accompanied by Millette.
The ABAC Saxophone Quartet will play A Christmas Jazz Suite arranged by Bill
Holcombe. The ABAC Jazz Choir will perform A
Cool Yule arranged by Kirby Shaw, Santa
Claus is Coming to Town, arranged by Russ Robinson, and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,
arranged by Mac Huff.
Dr. Herbert Shippey, Professor of
English, will also perform a Christmas reading.
