SYLVESTER RESIDENT SELECTED AS MS. ABAC 2007

TIFTON—Heather Lynn Gilman of Sylvester was selected as Ms. ABAC 2007 at the 38th annual Ms. ABAC event at Abraham Baldwin College. Thirty-four ABAC students participated in the pageant, which was sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Contestants were sponsored by campus groups, including clubs, residence halls, athletic teams, and student media. Gilman was sponsored by the ABAC Stallions Baseball Team.

            Gilman, a freshman early childhood education major, is the daughter of Donald and Kim. She is a graduate of Tiftarea Academy. At ABAC, she is a member of the Circle K Club and the ABAC Political Science Club. She is a resident of ABAC Place and an ABAC Foundation Scholar.

            Gilman won the Essay Award; Jill Dunn, a sophomore pre-veterinary medicine major of Tifton, won the Interview Award; and April Wages, a sophomore animal science major from Stockbridge, won the Contestant Award.

            First runner-up was Skye Wade, a freshman business administration major from Roswell; second runner-up was Dunn; third runner-up was Elizabeth Rossman, a sophomore early childhood education major from Lilburn; and fourth runner-up was Sarah Tucker, a sophomore early childhood education major from Tifton.
