BROWN WINS DONALDSON AWARD AT ABAC GRADUATION
TIFTON—Maleria
Brown, a
journalism major from Sycamore, received the highest honor presented to a
graduating student from
A total of 181 students
participated in the Gressette Gym ceremony, which featured a speech by Governor
Sonny Perdue.
While at ABAC, Brown was a member of
several organizations, including serving as editor of The Stallion, ABAC’s campus newspaper and a tutor for the Upward
Bound program. She was recognized with a Divisional Discipline Award in
Journalism and the Divisional Award of Distinction in Humanities on Honors Day.
She was selected by her peers for Who’s
Who at ABAC and Who’s Who Among American Junior
College Students. In the community, Brown serves as a sign language interpreter
in her church.
Brown plans to attend
She is the daughter of Andrew and
Joann Brown.
