Dr. Teresa Smith

SMITH TO INTERVIEW FOR PRESIDENT AT ABAC MARCH 15

TIFTON - Dr. Teresa Smith will interview for the position of President at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on March 15.

Smith is currently serving as Senior Vice President of Administration at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC. She has been a member of the Piedmont administration since 1994 when she was named the Director of Finance. She has also worked for Kirschner Medical Corporation, Duracell USA, and other companies with duties involving finances, such as audits, budgeting, and inventory.

Her teaching experience includes serving as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina in Columbia at the College of Higher Education and Policy and as an adjunct instructor at Webster University in Greenville, SC for the College of Business MBA Program. Smith also taught Principles of Accounting at Piedmont and was a part-time instructor in the College of Business at Lander University, also located in Greenwood.

Smith received an Associate’s degree in Accounting Science from Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC; a Bachelor’s of Science in Business from Lander University in Greenwood, SC; a Master’s of Business Administration from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC; and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education Leadership from Clemson University.

Smith is one of five candidates interviewing on the ABAC campus. The other candidates include Dr. Elazer Barnette, a Protégé in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ Millennium Leadership Initiative at Middle Tennessee State University; Dr. David C. Bridges, Assistant Dean of the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Tifton campus; Dr. Amelia Pearson, Provost and Dean of Instruction at Central Alabama Community College; and Dr. Cathy Rozmus, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Georgia Southwestern State University
