Dr. Cathy Rozmus

ROZMUS TO INTERVIEW FOR PRESIDENT AT ABAC MARCH 20

TIFTON - Dr. Cathy Rozmus will interview for the position of President at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on March 20.

Rozmus is currently serving as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty for Georgia Southwestern State University. She has also served as Dean and Professor of the School of Nursing at Georgia Southwestern and is a tenured member of the faculty.

 She has also held the position of Chair of the Graduate Nursing Program in the School of Nursing at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.  While there, she planned, implemented, and achieved approval for Belmont’s first Master’s of Nursing program and was a tenured faculty member. Her first teaching position was at Columbia (Tenn.) State Community College.

Rozmus has co-written a wide variety of health-related articles for the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, Applied Nursing Research, and other publications within the medical field.

She earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing from West Virginia University; a Master’s in Nursing from Vanderbilt University; and a Doctorate in Nursing Education Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Rozmus is one of five candidates interviewing on the ABAC campus. The other candidates include Dr. Elazer Barnette, a Protégé in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ Millennium Leadership Initiative at Middle Tennessee State University; Dr. David C. Bridges, Assistant Dean of the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Tifton campus;  Dr. Amelia Pearson, Provost and Dean of Instruction at Central Alabama Community College; and Dr. Teresa Smith, Senior Vice President of Administration at Piedmont (S.C.) Technical College.
