SEVENTEEN GRADUATE FROM 208th
TIFTON—Seventeen
individuals from the South Georgia area recently received certificates at
graduation exercises for the 208th Session of the South Georgia Police Academy
Basic Mandate Class at
Academy Director Ray Saxon said the Overall Achievement award for the session was awarded to Marcus B. Guess of the Adel Police Department. Guess and Charles D. Underwood of the Moultrie Police Department tied for first place in the award for Academic Achievement. A three-way tie for second place in Academic Achievement included Gregory R. Harper of Ambrose, sponsored by the South Georgia Police Academy; James D. Jordan of the Doerun Police Department; and Michael Vickers of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
First place in Firearms went to Dwandis L. Jackson of the Dawson Police Department. Guess earned second place. The President of the 208th session was William R. Cravey of the Moultrie Police Department.
Other graduates included Jesse B. Barfield of the Cordele Police Department; David W. Baty of the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office; Darrell L. Colvin from Cairo, sponsored by the South Georgia Police Academy; Christian J. Miller of the Cairo Police Department; Patrick D. Doherty of the Douglas Police Department; and Sean K. McElroy of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
Other graduates were Giovanni V. Rodriguez and Constance E. Walters of the Moultrie Police Department; Dustin M. Stephenson of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office; and Joseph L. Tucker from Ashburn, sponsored by the South Georgia Police Academy.
