POET PATRICK PHILLIPS TO SPEAK AT ABAC MARCH 15

 

            TIFTON - The staff of Pegasus, ABAC’s award-winning literary magazine, will sponsor a reading by acclaimed Georgia poet, Patrick Phillips, on March 15 at 6 p.m. in the Cordell Conference Room of the Carlton Center. Admission is free to all. A time for questions will follow the reading.

            Phillips’ first book, Chattahoochee, recently received the 2005 Kate Tufts Discovery Award.  His poems have appeared in numerous magazines, including Poetry, DoubleTake, and Ploughshares.  Among his honors are a “Discovery”/The Nation Award, the Sjoberg Translation Prize, and a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Copenhagen.  He is currently a MacCracken Fellow at New York University.
