TRISHA YEARWOOD TICKETS GOING FAST

TIFTON—Over 1,100 tickets have been sold for the 35th annual Dollars for ABAC Scholars Benefit on May 12 at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

“The response has been overwhelming,” Betty McCorvey, Assistant Director of Development for ABAC, said.

All tickets that include a dinner have been sold, leaving tickets for the concert only available. Those tickets are $75, a portion of which is tax-deductible. All proceeds benefit ABAC student scholarships.

Sponsored by the ABAC Foundation, the event will be held for the first time ever at the John Hunt Auditorium of the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center.

“We were able to get Trisha because of the seating the UGA Conference Center provides,” McCorvey said.

Yearwood is bringing along her regular opening act as part of the entertainment for this year’s scholarship benefit. Jessi Alexander and Jon Randall will warm up the crowd at 8 p.m. before Yearwood takes the stage.

Platinum Scholarship sponsors for the event are Ameris, Kelley Manufacturing, Planttel, and The Stafford Companies.

For more information, interested persons can call the ABAC Foundation Office at (229) 391-4897 or visit the ABAC web site at www.abac.edu.

Yearwood is a Monticello, Ga., native who first hit the radio airwaves with “She’s In Love With The Boy” in 1991.  She has had nine number one hits and has just released her latest album, “Jasper County.”
