ABAC STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL COLLEGE BAND AND CHORUS

TIFTON – Ten students at Abraham Baldwin College have been selected to participate in the All College Band and Chorus event in Savannah on Jan. 28. Students participating from all over the state will register on Jan. 25 and begin practicing for the scheduled performance on Jan. 28.

Students are chosen from colleges across the state by their directors who are current members of Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA). This is an in-service conference held annually to keep all members current in trends in the field of music.

Students chosen to participate must learn the repertoire before going to the convention and face a rigorous schedule of rehearsals for the performance.

Representing ABAC from the Concert Band are Stephanie Hunt of Tifton, clarinet; and Evan Zebley of Moultrie, alto saxophone. The ABAC Concert Choir members representing the college will be Ashley May of Tifton, Stacy Matthews from Fitzgerald, Ashley Harris of Monroe, Kristi Revels from Fitzgerald, Justin Pitts of Tifton, Adrian Rivers of Valdosta, Perry Greer of Ocilla, and Thomas Nelson from Senoia.

Accompanying these students to Savannah will be Eugene Wyles, Director of Bands, and Dr. Susan Roe, Assistant Professor of Voice.
