‘TECHNOLOGY ON TRIAL’ LECTURE FEBRUARY 16 AT ABAC

 

TIFTON- The Baldwin Library at Abraham Baldwin College will host a lecture titled “Technology on Trial: What the Media Get Right (and Don’t) When Complicated Things Fail” on Feb. 16.

The lecture will take place in the Cordell Conference Room from 10 – 11 a.m. Light refreshments will be served after the lecture. The event is open to anyone who would like to attend.

The featured speaker for this event is Dr. Jodie Peeler, Assistant Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Communication at Newberry College in Newberry, SC. She has also taught at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.

Peeler is a native of South Carolina. She holds a Master’s and Doctorate degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina. Her interest in journalism focuses on media history and how the media cover technological issues and controversies.

She has worked in the fields of radio and newspapers and has written on aviation and maritime subjects in national magazines. She is currently working on a biography of journalist and author Ben Robertson.
