LEARN TO DANCE WITH YOUR STAR AT ABAC

TIFTON—With the continually-growing popularity of ABC television’s “Dancing With the Stars”, the Public Service and Business Outreach Center (PSBOC) at Abraham Baldwin College is offering a Social Dancing: Foxtrot, Waltz, and Swing class. Last season “Stars” averaged 16.8 million viewers weekly.

Pre-registration is required. Each class will be held in the Nickelodeon of the J. Lamar Branch Student Center. The fee for each class is $59 per person or $99 per couple.

The Social Dancing class will take place every Monday, Feb. 20 – March 27, from 7:45 – 8:45 p.m.

This class will teach students the three basic dances used today . . . the Foxtrot, Waltz, and Swing. Participants will learn how to maneuver gracefully around the dance floor, whether leading or following.

Other dance classes offered include a Rumba, Tango, and Mambo class every Monday, Feb. 20 – March 27, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Some dance experience is required for this course.

And for those who have always wanted to try Latin dancing, a Latin Fever – Merengue, Salsa, and More class will be held every Monday, April 4 - 25, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

In this class, participants will learn the basic step patterns used in Latin dances and get a great aerobic workout in the process. Participants should bring comfortable clothes and dance shoes.
