STANFILL TO GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITY AFTER COLLEGE

TIFTONChristy Stanfill, an Abraham Baldwin College student from Fitzgerald, knows exactly what she wants to do after her college career is complete.

“I want to give back to the community I was raised in,” Stanfill said. She wants to do this through her choice of an early childhood education major at ABAC.

“I chose ABAC for two reasons,” Stanfill said. “ABAC is close to home and a lot of my friends said it was a great two-year college to start my education.”

At ABAC, she is a member of the ABAC Ambassadors. The Ambassadors serve as student representatives of the college, giving tours and participating in events such as Open Campus Day and Homecoming.

“Since being at ABAC, I’ve found that it’s a strong two-year college,” Stanfill said. “The professors are really open to you and care about you succeeding.”

Once her academic career at ABAC is complete, she plans to attain both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in early childhood education before returning home to Fitzgerald to teach kindergarten with the Ben Hill County School System.

Stanfill is the daughter of LaRue and Stephanie Stanfill. She has one older sister, Tiffany, 22, and nine year-old twin siblings, Jessica and Jacob.  She is a graduate of Fitzgerald High School.
