SPEECH STUDENTS SHOWCASE TALENT

TIFTON- Twenty-three of the top speakers from each of the Communications 1000 and 1100 classes at Abraham Baldwin College participated in the recent Lew Akin Speech Showcase.  

 Named for former ABAC professor Lew Akin, the Showcase was established in 1969.   Akin served as division chair of Humanities from 1975-1991.

Those who participated were Susan Adkinson, a pre-law major from Fort Valley; Jamie Brooks, a psychology major from Cairo; Abby Bullard, an early childhood education major from Moultrie; Jeci Crane, an agriculture major from Midway; Jill Dunn, a pre-vet major from Tifton; Marshall Faircloth, an undeclared major from Norman Park; and Lisa Frazier, a nursing major from Coffee County.

Other participants included Heather Gilman, a Family and Consumer Sciences Education major from Sylvester; John Michael Hall, a business administration major from Moultrie; Kim Hooks, a nursing major from North Augusta, SC; Erica Johnson, an undeclared major from Alapaha; Tabinda Maqsood, a general business technology major from Chula; Terry McStott, a nursing major from Tifton; and Tammy Nhu, a pharmacy major from Tifton.

Other speakers included Alex Patrick, a landscape design major from Henry County; Channing Paulk, a pharmacy major from Ocilla; Tiffany Salaam, a pharmacy major from Albany; Takevia Sawyer, a family and consumer sciences major from Ashburn; Daniel Shippey, a journalism major from Tifton; Zach Tomberlin, a pharmacy major from Tifton; Mikell Toms, a nursing major from Moultrie; Leslie Williams, a physical therapy major from Kingsland; and Ashli Wilson, a pharmacy major from Ocilla.
