ELLIS WINS ‘ABAC IDOL’ CONTEST

TIFTONZachary Ellis, an undeclared major from Tifton, won first place in the ‘ABAC Idol’ competition at Abraham Baldwin College. Ellis played The Doors’ ‘Love Me Two Times’ on the piano.

First runner-up went to Randi Tison, a nursing major from Sylvester. Tison sang Carrie Underwood’s ‘Don’t Forget to Remember Me.” Second runner-up in the competition went to nursing major Jeremiah Hicks of Tifton, who sang ‘Somebody’s Praying for Me’ a cappella.

The contest showcased vocal and instrumental talents of 13 contestants. Participants were judged by Dr. Kay Weeks from the Division of Humanities, Dr. James Galt-Brown of the Division of Social Sciences, and Student Government secretary Paula Rogers. The competition was sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa.
