TWELVE GRADUATE FROM 211th ABAC POLICE ACADEMY

TIFTON—Twelve individuals from the South Georgia area recently received certificates at graduation exercises for the 211th session of the South Georgia Police Academy Basic Mandate Class at Abraham Baldwin College.

Academy Director Ray Saxon said the Overall Achievement award for the session was awarded to Daryl L. Clements of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office. Clements also received first place in Academic Achievement. Second place in Academic Achievement went to Bruce W. Gourley, Jr., of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

First place in Firearms was awarded to Jason B. Bolden of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and second place to John M. Mills of the Bainbridge Department of Public Safety. Ryan L. Jenkins of the Albany Police Department served as president of the class.

Other graduates included Christina L. Brannon of Adel, sponsored by the South Georgia Police Academy; Anna E. Dunlap and William T. Zigan of the Albany Police Department; Alex R. Frazier of the Albany State University Department of Public Safety; William C. Harris of Ocilla, sponsored by the South Georgia Police Academy; Brian L. Palmer of the Bainbridge Police Department; and Jonathan C. Thompson of the Moultrie Police Department.

The South Georgia Police Academy regularly holds multi-week intensive training sessions designed to acquaint officers with state-of-the-art law enforcement techniques. The Academy operates in cooperation with the Division of Social Science at ABAC.
