NEW FACULTY AND STAFF AT ABAC

TIFTON--The start of the fall semester spells change for  new faculty and staff members at Abraham Baldwin College. In addition to a host of newcomers, some ABAC faculty and staff members have changed positions within the college.

Sixteen new staff members have joined the college since last August, including ABAC’s new President, David C. Bridges, who attended ABAC and graduated in 1978 with an Associate’s degree in Agriculture.

Ruth Jackson is the new cashier in the Business Office. The Office of Development and Alumni welcomes Amanda Bridges as Administrative Records and Research Assistant. Kim Thomas is the COMPASS Testing Specialist in the Office of Learning Support.

Baretta King is the Baldwin Library’s part-time Library Assistant. The Office of Information Technology welcomes Jimmy Harper, Application Support Analyst. The Upward Bound Program has two new faces in its office. Christopher Kinsey is ABAC’s Guidance and Academic Specialist, and Gerald Williams in the Tiftarea Upward Bound Coordinator.

The Office of Student and Enrollment Services has gained four new faces this year.  They are Logan Edwards, North Georgia/Metro Atlanta Recruiter; Tonya Hamm, Coordinator of Residence Life; Ryan Myers, Financial Aid Processing Specialist; and Brooke Sanders, South Georgia Recruiter.

 Betty K. Barber, Gail Drayton, Joseph F. Johnson, Jr., and Andrew M. Smith, are new members of the ABAC Police Department this year. 

             Thirteen faculty members have come aboard for the 2006-2007 academic year. The Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources new chair is Dr. Timothy Marshall. Also new in the division is John Joyce, Agricultural Technician. Linda Underwood has joined the Division of Business Administration as an Instructor of Business. The Division of Social Science’s new Assistant Professor of Psychology is Diana Fuller.

            The Division of Humanities added Gina Wilson, Senior Administrative Assistant; Kelly Keener, Instructor of English; Michele Lee, Instructor of English; and Tyrie (T.J.) Smith, Instructor of English.

            New additions in the Division of Nursing are Vickie Holloway, LPN1 in the Health Center and Jeannie Paulk, Clinical Instructor/Lab Assistant.

Anna Liner is a new Full-Time Temporary Instructor in Biology in the Division of Science and Mathematics.  New Instructors in Mathematics are Avijit Kar and Sue Wong.  Derek Westwood will be the new Assistant Professor of Mathematics.

Returning faculty and staff members have gained new positions within the past year. In the Office of Student & Enrollment Services, Mandy C. Ponder was moved from Part-Time HOPE Information Coordinator I to Enrollment Specialist. Caren Gladin, formerly a Records Coordinator II, becamean Enrollment Specialist I and  Ellen Resta in the Office of Evening and Off-Campus Programs has also been temporarily assigned as an Enrollment Specialist.

Van McGriff became Administrative Associate in the Office of Student & Enrollment Services. She previously served as Senior Administrative Assistant in the Division of Humanities.

Also in the Office of Student & Enrollment Services, Sharon Ellis became Interim Director of the Business Office from her former position as Information Systems Coordinator and Stefane Hightower was moved from the Accounting Clerk position to the One Card Office in the One Stop Shop.

In the Division of Humanities, Becca Turner moved from part-time temporary Instructor to full-time temporary Instructor. Jeannie Rigdon moved to full-time temporary Assistant Professor from part-time in the Division of Nursing. In the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources, Judy Perry has become the Senior Administrative Assistant from her former post as Senior Accounting Assistant in the Business Office. Lee Ann Taylor is the new Instructor of Business in the Division of Business Administration. She was formerly a full-time temporary Instructor.

The Office of Learning Support welcomes former Assistant Professor of Humanities, Dr. Erin Campbell, as the new Director of Learning Support. In the Office of Student Support Services, Marsha Anderson became Director of the Student Support Services Program. Prior to her new position, she was Administrative Coordinator of the program.
