ABAC FALL CLASSES BEGIN AUGUST 21
TIFTON – Classes begin Aug. 21 at
The first week of
classes will be filled with events for ABAC’s Second Annual Welcome Week,
culminating with the Presidential Inauguration and Freshman Convocation on Aug.
25 with the Centennial Class of 2008.
ABAC will begin celebration of its 100th birthday on March 31, 2007. This year’s freshman class is on target to graduate during the birthday year in 2008. The inauguration ceremony will honor ABAC President David Bridges.
The First Tuesday Concert Series will kick off on Sept. 5 featuring the ABAC music faculty. The series showcases a different performance on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths. The Baldwin Players will also be holding auditions Sept. 11-12 for the upcoming fall play.
October’s events will begin with the First Tuesday
Concert on Oct. 3 with a Night of Classics. Other music events for the month
include the Music Program’s Fall Picnic and Concert on Oct. 11 and the Stafford
Series featuring Benjamin Woods on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in Howard Auditorium.
The Hispanic Heritage Month celebration is also
set for Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
On Oct. 9, the Sixth Annual ABAC Ag
Golf Classic will be held at ABAC’s Forest Lakes Golf
Course. The Ag Classic is a scholarship event with funds going to students
majoring in the field of agriculture.
One of the highlights of October will be ABAC’s
participation in the Sunbelt Ag Expo, a three-day event focusing on the newest
technologies in agriculture. The Expo will take place from Oct. 17-19 at Spence
Field in
The annual Miss ABAC contest is set for Nov. 2. The
Fall Open Campus Day is on Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Open Campus Day is for
all prospective students interested in the college and its offerings.
A First Tuesday Concert will feature Kenyon and
his Cool Jazz on Nov. 7. The ABAC Band and Choir Concert will be held at 7:30
p.m. on Nov. 16. From Nov. 9-11, the
Baldwin Players production will run at 7 p.m. in Conger Hall.
A Campus Holiday Celebration will start the
Christmas season off on Dec. 5 in the Chapel of All Faiths at 4 p.m. On Dec. 7,
the fall student music recital will take place at 5 p.m. in the Chapel of All
Faiths.
Fall classes end Dec. 8. Final exams will take
place Dec. 11-14. Graduation will be held in Gressette Gym at 6 p.m. on Dec.
14.
Student holidays for the fall term are Labor Day
on Sept. 4, Fall Break on Oct. 16-17, and Nov. 23-24 for Thanksgiving.
The college will be closed for the Christmas
holidays on Dec. 25 - Jan. 1. Spring term begins Jan. 8, 2007.
