COMMUNITY RECEPTION FOR ABAC PRESIDENT AUGUST 16

TIFTON – A community reception for Abraham Baldwin College’s new president, Dr. David C. Bridges, will be held on Aug. 16 at the Donaldson Dining Hall from 4 – 5:30 p.m. It is open to anyone who would like to attend.

A native of Parrott, Ga., Bridges received his Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and Soils from Auburn University; a Master’s in Weed Science from Auburn; and a Doctorate in Weed Science from Texas A&M University.

He was named the Assistant Dean of the Tifton Campus of the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in 2001 and served in that position before taking the helm at ABAC on July 1.

A 1978 ABAC graduate, Bridges is the first ABAC alumnus to serve as president of the college. He met his wife, Kim, at ABAC and his children, Rees and Morgan, both attended the college.

Fall term classes at ABAC begin on Aug. 21.
