SPRING MUSIC RECITAL AT ABAC APRIL 26

 

            TIFTON – The annual Spring Music Recital at Abraham Baldwin College will take place on April 26 at 5 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.  This event is open to the public at no charge.

Gina Lawhon will accompany each instrumentalist on piano, and Lorna Nolen will accompany each vocalist on piano. 

Musicians include Lucy Taylor of Douglas on alto saxophone performing Andante and Allegro by Andre Chailleux; Lee Cross of Rebecca, percussionist, performing Concerto in A Minor by J.S. Bach for xylophone and piano; Stephanie Hunt of Tifton on clarinet performing Sonata No. 2, Movement 1 by Johannes Brahms; and Joshua Taylor of Camilla on guitar performing Vals by Baltolome Calatuyd and Simplice by Carlos Domeniconi. 

Vocalists performing at the recital are Shawntell Bennett of Hinesville, soprano, performing The Crucifixion by Samuel Barber and Were You There by Moses Hogan; Michelle Grice of Fitzgerald, mezzo-soprano, performing O del mio dolce ardor from Orfeo by Cristoforo Gluck and Where E're You Walk by George F. Handel; Joshua Harrell of Tifton, tenor, performing Panis Angelicus by Ceasar Franck and Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes by Ben Jonson;  Ashley May of Tifton, soprano, performing Nel cor piu non mi sento by Paisiello and Tell Me On a Sunday by Andrew Lloyd Webber;  and Adrian Rivers of Valdosta, tenor, performing Ol' Man River from Showboat by Jerome Kern and The Vagabond from Songs of Travel by Ralph Vaughn Williams. 

Other music majors to perform that evening are Trent Lumpkin of Poulan, double bass; and Jonathan Thomas of  Toccoa, percussionist.
