BLACKMARR READS EXCERPTS OF ‘HAUNTS’ AT ABAC NOVEMBER 9

TIFTON--Pegasus, Abraham Baldwin College’s award-winning literary magazine, will host 2004 Georgia Author of the Year Amy Blackmarr on Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. in the Cordell Conference Room for a book reading and signing.

Blackmarr will read excerpts from her latest book, Dahlonega Haunts: Ghostly Adventures in a Georgia Mountain Town. Dahlonega’s rich history, including the county’s first gold rush, Civil War murders, and the dilemma of the Cherokees in 1838, makes it the perfect setting for this collection of essays.

Blackmarr’s previous books include Going to Ground, named by the Georgia Center for the Book as one of the Top 25 Books All Georgians Should Read; 1999’s House of Steps; and Above the Fall Line, which earned Blackmarr the 2004 Georgia Author of the Year Award in the essay division.
