ABAC BEAUTY REVUE ON NOVEMBER 8

TIFTON- Ms. Abraham Baldwin 2006 will be crowned on Nov. 8 at the 37th annual ABAC Beauty Revue at Abraham Baldwin College. The Revue is sponsored by the Inter-Activities Council, Student Government Association, and the College Activities Board. 

            The event will feature 61 contestants who will compete in casual wear and evening gowns. They will also be judged on a written essay and an interview with the judges. The Revue begins at 7:30 p.m. in ABAC's Donaldson Dining Hall. Admission is $3.

Students competing in this year's event include Candice Ballard, a pre-veterinary medicine major from Covington, sponsored by the ABAC Stallions basketball team; Laura Beard, a business administration major from Tifton, sponsored by Alpha Beta Gamma; Shawntell Bennett, a sociology major from Hinesville, sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA); Jessica Bolton, an animal science transfer major from Dawson, sponsored by the ABAC RaCooners; Megan Brannen, an animal science major from Statesboro, sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors; and Laura Beth Braziel, a liberal arts major from Tifton, sponsored by the Residence Hall Association (RHA).

Other coeds competing for the crown are Laura Browne, a pharmacy major from Albany, sponsored by Circle K; Jessica Bryant, an agricultural education major from Jefferson, sponsored by the RHA; Kelley Burnette, a nursing major from Cordele, sponsored by Stuckey Landscaping; Meredith Carey, an agricultural education major from Royston, sponsored by the Inter-Activities Council; Ashley Carter, an agricultural business major from Folkston, sponsored by the ABAC Future Farmers of America (FFA); Shanica Crider, an animal science major from Gainesville, Fla., sponsored by the ABAC Stallions baseball team; Hannah Dasher, a speech/drama major from Springfield, sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors; Anna Daniel, a biology major from Jackson, sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors; and Katie Davis, an agricultural education major from Tifton, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Other contestants are Carla Dean, an animal science/pre-veterinary medicine major from Bainbridge, sponsored by the Pre-Vet Club; Ashley Dowd, an agricultural education major from Hinesville, sponsored by the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources; Hailey Duke, a business administration major from Moultrie, sponsored by Alpha Beta Gamma; Kristl Edenfield, an early childhood education major from Tifton, sponsored by CAB; Eve Felton, an agricultural education major from Tifton, sponsored by the Horticulture Club; Heather Foss, a pre-veterinary medicine major from Warner Robins, sponsored by 4-H; Mandy Freeman, a family and consumer science major from Monroe, sponsored by CAB; and Andrea Gilder, a social work major from Chula, sponsored by the RaCooners Club.

Others participating are Lindsay Godfrey, an animal science/livestock health major from Comer, sponsored by the Cattlemen’s Association; April Graves, a wildlife technology major from Rabun Gap, sponsored by the Agricultural Equipment Technology (AET) Club; Jeri Anna Guthrie, an agricultural education major form Adel, sponsored by the GAESP; Ashley Harris, a business major from Tifton, sponsored by the Concert Choir; Brittany Higgins, an early childhood education major from Snellville, sponsored by the RHA; Heather Holley, a business administration major from Sylvania, sponsored by the AET Club; Anastasia Holston, a sociology major from Thomaston, sponsored by the Minority Academic Social Development Association (MASDA); Heather Hutchinson, an early childhood education major from Tifton, sponsored by the Baptist Student Union (BSU); Andrea Inman, a business administration major from Adel, sponsored by Christian Student Fellowship;  Jakyn Jennings, a recreation major from Rochelle, sponsored by SGA;  Kimberly Key, a family and consumer science major from Norman Park, sponsored by Family and Consumer Sciences Club; Tiffany Layfield, an early childhood education major from Cordele sponsored by ABAC’s Concert Band; and Katy Lewis, a pre-dentistry major from Moultrie, sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors.

Other students competing for the title of Ms. ABAC include Whitney Lightfoot, an allied health major from Tifton, sponsored by the men’s and women’s tennis teams; Melissa Maher, an animal science major from Snellville, sponsored by the ABAC rodeo team; Jamie Mattingly, a landscape design and grounds management major, sponsored by the ABAC Honors Club; Ashley May, a music education major from Tifton, sponsored by the ABAC Jazz Choir; Claren Megow, a veterinary medicine major from Valdosta, sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa; Erin Minter, an early childhood education major from Thomaston, sponsored by BSU;  Amanda Monk, a general business major from Dallas, sponsored by the Political Science Club; Mary New, an agricultural education major from Palm City, Fla., sponsored by the AET Club; Heather Porter, a secondary education/math major from Thomasville, sponsored by GAESP; Ashley Price, an animal science major from Bonaire, sponsored by the Pre-Vet Club; Jennifer Robinson, an information technology major from Duluth, sponsored by the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Club; and Paula Rogers, an agricultural education major from Soperton, sponsored by the ABAC FFA Club.

Among others hoping to win the title of Ms. ABAC are Justine Rooks, an agricultural engineering major from Iverness, Fla., sponsored by the Honors Club; Morgan Sharp, a business administration major from Macon/Bristol, sponsored by BACCHUS; Angela Shepard, an undeclared major from Sylvester, sponsored by the Pegasus literary magazine; Hannah Skeen, an early childhood education major from Ocilla, sponsored by the ABAC Cheerleaders; Renee Smith, an agricultural education major from Waycross, sponsored by the Honors Club; Christy Stanfill, an art education major from Fitzgerald, sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors; Amanda Wright, a business administration major from Gilmer, sponsored by Alpha Beta Gamma; Angela Wright, a pre-medicine major from Tifton, sponsored by the ABAC Farm; Courtney Young, a marketing and management major from Madison, sponsored by Rodeo Club; and Jeanna Zito, a pre-veterinary major from Newnan, sponsored by the AET Club.   

Former SGA President, Catrina Kennedy, is directing this year’s show. ABAC Director of Public Relations Mike Chason will serve as master of ceremonies. Ms. Abraham Baldwin 2005, Jessica Jones, will crown the new Ms. ABAC.
