DANIEL SELECTED AS FOURTH RUNNER-UP IN MS. ABAC 2006

TIFTON—Anna Daniel of Jackson was selected as the fourth runner-up in the 37th annual Ms. ABAC event at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Sixty-one ABAC students participated in the pageant, which was sponsored by the Interactivities Council (IAC), the Student Government Association (SGA), and the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Daniel is a biology major. At ABAC, she is a member of the ABAC Ambassadors, women’s tennis team, Pre-Veterinary Club, Horticulture Club, and the Lew Akin Speech Showcase Winner for spring 2005.  She was sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors. Daniel is the daughter of Millard and Mary Frances Daniel.

Melissa Maher, an animal science major from Snellville, was selected as Ms. ABAC 2006. Other finalists were Hailey Duke, first runner-up, a business administration major from Moultrie; Megan Brannen, second runner-up, an animal science major from Statesboro; and Meredith Carey, third runner-up, an agricultural education major from Royston.

Carla Dean, a pre-veterinary medicine major from Bainbridge, was named Miss Congeniality, and Amanda Monk, a general business major from Dallas, received the People’s Choice award. Duke won the interview portion of the contest, and Brannen won the essay portion of the competition.

Contestants were sponsored by campus groups, including clubs, residence halls, athletic teams, and student media.
