HISPANIC HERITAGE CELEBRATION AT ABAC OCTOBER 11

 

TIFTON- The offices of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) and the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) at Abraham Baldwin College will hold a celebration on Oct. 11 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The celebration will take place from 2 – 4:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the ABAC campus. The event will feature singing, traditional dancing, story telling, a parade of flags, and prize drawings. It is open to anyone who would like to attend at no charge.

Hispanic Heritage Month, from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, commemorates the anniversary of five Latin American countries – Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua – receiving their independence. In addition, Mexico and Chile gained independence during this time frame.
