GEORGE
SCOTT DAY SHOWCASES ARTS AT ABAC ON APRIL 21
TIFTON—George
Scott Day,
The George Scott stage will feature
performances by various Humanities organizations from the ABAC campus. Events
to be held include the Pegasus poetry
readings and awards, the Baldwin Players theatre troupe, demonstrations and art
exhibits by the Art Students League, performances by the music department, and
short story and poetry reading from the Humanities faculty. ABAC clubs and
organizations from the college will also have booths and activities throughout
the day.
The Jazz Festival stage will feature
high school jazz performances by Central,
Lunch will be available for $6 to
the public during the festival from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. For more information or
for details concerning the schedule for the George Scott Day/Jazz Festival, interested
persons can call (229) 391-4942 or 391-4945 Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5
p.m.
To culminate the Jazz Festival,
there will be a dinner and concert held in the Donaldson Dining Hall at 7:30
p.m. by the renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Tickets can be purchased by
contacting the ABAC Arts Connection at (229) 391-4820.
All events, except for the
Preservation Hall Jazz Band concert, are open to the public and free of charge.
General admission for the Preservation Hall Jazz Band concert is $20 for adults
and $15 for students. Dinner is $15. ABAC students will be admitted free with valid
ID.
