ABAC TENNIS PLAYERS HEAD TO FLORIDA TOURNAMENT

 

Three of ABAC’s tennis players are headed to Ft. Myers, Fla., to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Small College Championship to be held on Oct. 13 – 16.

Justin Pickham won the men’s singles division at the Wilson/ITA Southeastern Region Championship in Alexander City, Ala. last weekend.  He and partner, Nikola Prpic, won the men’s double division, and the Fillies’ Florencia Torres won the women’s singles division for ABAC. All three ABAC tennis players are sophomores.

The wins at this tournament enables all three to compete in the ITA tournament at Florida Gulf Coast College between NCAA and NAIA schools. There are four divisions of competition representing small colleges. The winner of each division will then go on to the “Super Bowl” competition culminating the tournament.
