FINANCIAL AID STILL AVAILABLE FOR SPRING AT ABAC

TIFTON—Financial aid is still available for students who have yet to apply for the spring term at Abraham Baldwin College. Spring term classes begin Jan. 10.

Jenelle Handcox, Director of Financial Aid, said, “Anything that students are eligible for is currently still available for spring.” Among those awards still available are the Pell Grant, HOPE Scholarships and Grants, work study and various loans.

Students interested in financial aid can obtain an application in a variety of ways. First, students can come into the office of Financial Aid and pick up an application. Students may also call and have a packet mailed to them or they can go onto ABAC’s website and fill one out via the Internet.

The processing of financial aid requests varies depending on the method by which a student applies. Students who apply via the Internet generally have a response of two weeks, while those who use the paper application have a response in four weeks. There is another two weeks involved for applications to be processed in the financial aid office.

“We are still processing applications for spring on a day-to-day basis,” said Handcox. She said approximately 62 percent of ABAC students received some type of

financial aid in the fall term.
