TIFTON- Derrick Moore, former NFL
player, author, and motivational speaker, will speak at Abraham Baldwin
College on Dec. 6 at 7
p.m. The event will take place in Gressette Gym and is free of charge.
Moore’s presentation is
sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Baptist Student Union
at ABAC. Fun and fellowship begin at 6 p.m.
Moore is Developmental
Coach/Chaplain for Georgia Tech. He serves as an advisor and counselor on
behalf of the Athletic Department, and provides assistance to staff and student
athletes in the areas of leadership, team building, relationship development,
and personal fulfillment.
Moore is a former NFL
running back for the Atlanta Falcons, drafted in the eighth round in 1992. He
also played for the Detroit Lions and the Carolina Panthers. He holds the
expansion rushing record for a running back. His professional career concluded
with the Arizona Cardinals, which encompassed six total years.
He
attended college at Northeastern
State University
and was the keynote speaker at his own commencement.
Moore shares his messages
of inspiration and motivation with more than 100,000 people annually. With his
unique style of word pictures, props, humor, and wit, he is able to command the
attention of any audience.
Moore is also the author
of Moody Publisher’s new release The
Great Adventure. This book is written primarily to youth to help them
understand success. He and his wife have two daughters.
