ABAC IN THE PARK GROWING STEADILY IN SYLVESTER

TIFTON- ABAC in the Park, located in the Worth County Governmental building in Sylvester, is steadily branching out. The building was recently renovated for the use of both regular credit and continuing education classes from Abraham Baldwin College. The number of classes from ABAC will expand for spring semester.

Dr. Gail Dillard, Interim Vice President for Student and Enrollment Services, said, “The response has been a welcome one. We want to expand the program as much as possible.”

As part of this expansion, Dillard has been talking with Worth County High School administrators about starting Post Secondary Option (PSO) classes next year for those attending the school.

“This will allow high school students in Sylvester to start taking college classes while getting dual credit in the process without having to commute to Tifton,” Dillard said.

Classes currently slated for spring at ABAC in the Park include English 1102 and U.S. History 1102, as well as a variety of continuing education classes.

“We are also working on getting phone and internet connections installed so ABAC in the Park can establish office hours. It’s a very attractive facility, and we will certainly welcome community groups in Worth County to take full advantage of this wonderful investment,” Dillard said.
