ABAC UPWARD BOUND QUIZ BOWL TEAM PLACES SECOND IN COMPETITION

The Upward Bound Quiz Bowl Team at Abraham Baldwin College placed second in the Southeastern Regional Competition recently held in Atlanta. Other states represented in the competition included Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

ABAC team members include Jwaltney Daniels, Courtney McIntyre, Timmie Paulhill, Edward Valentin, Jr., and Ellis Washington, III. All of these students attend Tift County High School. The team is coached by Upward Bound Director Kenneth Newkirk and Program Counselor Jean Oliver-Burks.

Categories in the competition included current events, languages, literature, mathematics, science, and social science.
