SPRING OPEN CAMPUS DAY APRIL 12 AT ABAC

Prospective students who want a first look at Abraham Baldwin College can attend the Spring Open Campus Day on April 12 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Carlton Center.

Admissions Director Angie Palmer said the day is designed for students who are about to graduate from high school as well as those who have been out of the classroom setting for several years.

“It’s a great opportunity to take a look at ABAC from top to bottom,” Palmer said.  “We’ll provide lots of information about how to get started on a college career as well as how we can help you fund that education through the financial aid office.”

Palmer said registration begins at 10 a.m. The ABAC Ambassadors will provide tours of the campus, and individual divisions will set up displays from the 52 programs of study at the college. Financial aid and housing personnel will offer expertise in those areas. Tours of the residence halls will also be available.

“We’re about to build brand new residence halls so the students who enter during the fall semester will probably get to live in those buildings during their second year at ABAC,” Palmer said. “It’s an exciting time with all the various building projects going on. Our campus is certainly going to take on a refreshing new look.”

ABAC administrators will be on hand for a general question-and-answer time, which Palmer said is always beneficial to parents who can attend that session with their prospective students.

“It’s also a good session for our non-traditional students who may be coming back to the classroom after an extended time away working or raising a family,” Palmer said. “College is a big step, but in these days and times, a very important step to a person’s career.”

No pre-registration is necessary. Palmer said the program ends at noon. For more information, contact the admissions office at 1-800-733-3653, or visit the ABAC web site at www.abac.edu.
