MPUNZWANA WINS ABAC BEAUTY REVUE

Pippa Mpunzwana was crowned Ms. ABAC 2004 in the 36th annual Beauty Revue at Abraham Baldwin College. Finalists included (left to right) Brooke Hampton, Amanda Hayes, Mpunzwana, Mary Amanda Hewatt, and Dana Murray.

 

Pippa R. Mpunzwana, a fashion merchandising major from Harare, Zimbabwe, was selected as the winner of the 36th annual ABAC Beauty Revue at Abraham Baldwin College. Mpunzwana is the daughter of Philip and Chipo Mpunzwana.

Other finalists were Brooke Hampton, an animal science major from Covington; Amanda Hayes, a speech communication major from Nashville; Mary Amanda Hewatt, a veterinary science major from Fitzgerald; and Dana Murray, a nursing major from Conyers.

Mary Grace Cary, a journalism major from Sylvester, won the Essay Award, and Mpunzwana received the Contestants’ Award among the 39 participants in the event. The Revue was sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors.

Mpunzwana was sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). At ABAC, she is the Student Union President and a member of the Family and Consumer Sciences Club (FACS), the Student Government Association (SGA), and PTK. Mpunzwana is also a writing tutor in the Academic Assistance Center (AAC). In a campus-wide vote, she was selected as Ms. Baldwin 2002-03 and was a recipient of the GACS Scholarship and the SGA Senator Scholarship Award.

At Arundel High School, Mpunzwana was a member of the Drama Club, the Needlework Club, the Junior and Senior Choirs, and First Team Hockey. She also received a Drama Club Award and a Chapel Choir and Solo Award.
