ABAC BAND AND CHOIR CONCERT NOVEMBER 20

The Abraham Baldwin College concert band and concert choir will perform in the annual fall concert on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Tift County High School. The concert is open to anyone who would like to attend. There is no admission charge.

The Concert Band, under the direction of Eugene Wyles, will present a variety of concert pieces, including Henry Fillmore’s “The Klaxon,” Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story,” Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America,” which will be sung by Dr. Susan Roe, assistant professor of voice at ABAC,  and Claude T. Smith’s “Eternal Father, Strong To Save.”

            The Concert Choir, under the direction of Wayne Jones, will present a variety of Beethoven compositions, including “Choral Fantasy, Op. 80” and “Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage.” Special guests Dr. Leroy Bynum and Dr. Julie Meggenson will contribute to the choral performance by assisting Jones in the presentation of scenes from “Fidelio.”

            ABAC’s next musical performance will be the ABAC Music Recital on Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. in ABAC’s Chapel of All Faiths.
