ABAC AG CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT OCTOBER 27 IN MOULTRIE

The third annual ABAC Ag Classic Golf Tournament will be held for the first time in Moultrie at the Sunset Country Club on Oct. 27. Tee time is at 1 p.m.

The entry fee is $125 per person or $500 for a four-player team. This fee includes cart and greens fees, a premium golf shirt embroidered with the tournament logo, a sleeve of balls, and lunch.

Prize payouts begin at $1,000 for the first place team and continue through fifth place.

A Buick Regal will be awarded to a player who makes a hole-in-one on a designated hole, courtesy of Edwards Motors in Moultrie and Albany. Other prizes will be given to the player who makes the longest drive and the player whose shot is closest to the pin on designated holes. Door prizes will also be awarded.

Proceeds from the tournament, which is sponsored by the ABAC Ag Alumni Council, will be used to benefit students in ABAC’s Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources.

According to Nancy Coleman, Director of Alumni Relations and tournament coordinator, holding the tournament in Moultrie was a logical decision.

“Since Colquitt County is ABAC’s second largest county for alumni and students and because agriculture is the number one industry in Colquitt County, we felt it was appropriate to have the tournament in Moultrie,” Coleman said. “In the future, tournaments will most likely rotate between Moultrie and Tifton.”

Coleman said players come from all over Georgia to participate in the tournament and to support the agricultural programs at ABAC.
