ABAC EMPLOYEES RECEIVE SERVICE AWARDS

          Employees of Abraham Baldwin College were recently honored for their service to ABAC at the faculty/staff appreciation picnic.

          Faculty and staff members who are retiring include Vivian Pearman, Dr. Charlotte Pfeiffer, Nancy Scott, and Garth Webb. Pearman, Secretary to the President, is retiring after 33 years of service to the college. Pfeiffer, a professor in the Division of Humanities, has been a faculty member at ABAC for 22 years. Scott, assistant professor in the Division of Business Administration, will retire with 21 years of service. Webb, Director of Admissions, is retiring after 28 years of service to ABAC.

          Dennis O. Bush, Jr., an associate professor in the Division of Social Science, and Brenda J. Sellers, an assistant professor and Director of the Baldwin Library, each received 30-year service plaques.

          Employees who received 25-year service certificates were Dr. Ray N. Barber, Chair in the Division of Science and Mathematics; Ray E. Miller, a HVAC mechanic in the Physical Plant; Jennifer T. Murphy, senior secretary in the Registrar's Office; Pathelyn H. Smith, Systems Administrator in the Computer Center; and Donnie J. Stone, a custodian in the Physical Plant.

          Dr. Rodney W. Brown, an associate professor in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources; Joel G. Bruce, project coordinator in the Physical Plant; Joyce A. Cogdell, a custodian in the Physical Plant; Murray C. Fender, a carpenter in the Physical Plant; Stephanie L. Holcombe, an associate professor in the Division of Science and Mathematics; and Jimmy R. (Ray) Woods, an automotive mechanic in the Physical Plant, received 20-year service plaques.

          Receiving 15-year service certificates were Bruce A. Applewhite, admissions counselor; Dr. Jerry B. Davis, a professor in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources; Ernest L. Kelly, III, an electrical technician in the Computer Center; Calvin James Lee, a painter in the Physical Plant; and Pamela R. Leonard, administrative assistant in the Public Relations Office

          Ten-year service certificates were presented to Phyllis Bennett, Interim Director of Retention Programs; Kay Billings, a registered nurse in the Health Center; Keetra C. Branch,an associate professor in the Division of Science and Mathematics; Scotty Lee Funderburk, a HVAC technician in the Physical Plant; Bryan A. Golden, Director of Public Safety; Wanda J. Golden, Chair in the Division of Nursing; Lum Roberts, a groundskeeper in the Physical Plant; Dr. Sharry M. Sackor, an assistant professor in the Division of Humanities;and Dr. Herbert P. Shippey, a professor in the Division of Humanities.

          Receiving five-year service certificates were John B. Davis, III, a public safety officer; Gary D. Dicks, an assistant professor in the Division of Science and Mathematics; Lisa Forshee, Coordinator of Jon Placement; Lonnie Gibson, facilities coordinator for the ABAC on the Square office in Moultrie; Sandra L. Giles, an assistant professor in the Division of Humanities; Stefane D. Hightower, accounting clerk in the Business office; Carlos D. Howard, minority recruiter in the Admissions Office; and Diane H. Jackson, an instructor in the Division of Humanities.

          Other recipients of five-year service certificates included Steven L. Janousek, an assistant professor in the Division of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation; Trina M. Jones, library technical assistant/public services in the Baldwin Library; Etta J. Lee, an instructor in the Division of Social Science; Angela R. Newbern, assistant registrar; Dr. Malcolm R. Rainey, an assistant professor in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources; Kiplan J. Smith, an assistant professor in the Division of Business Administration; Leonard L. Smith, training coordinator for the Police Academy; and Joyce Ann Willis, admissions specialist.
