Etta Lee and Dr. Marc Steinberg were promoted to the rank of assistant professor from instructor. Dr. Mac Rainey and Dr. Sharry M. Sackor were promoted to the rank of associate professor from assistant professor. Sackor was also approved for tenure. Dr. Eddie Seagle and Dr.Jeff Seela were promoted to the rank of professor from associate professor. Alan Kramer was approved for tenure.
Tenure may be granted to a faculty member who has served at least five years as an assistant professor and has shown the potential for making significant contributions to the college and in the professor's field. Tenure also recognizes the professor as a permanent member of the college faculty.
Lee, who has been a faculty member at ABAC since 1999, teaches in the Division of Social Science. She received an M.Ed. in Counseling/Guidance and a B.Ed. in Middle Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University, an M.S. degree in Reading from Columbus State University, and a BBA degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
Steinberg, who began teaching in the Division of Humanities in 1999, earned his Ph.D. in English from Kent State University, his M.A. degree in English from St. John's University, and his B.A. degree in English from S.U.N.Y. Binghamton.
Rainey, who has been a faculty member at ABAC since 1998, teaches in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources. He holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from Mississippi State University, an M.A. degree in Animal Sciences from West Texas State University, and a B.S. degree in Animal Science from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Sackor received her Ph.D. in Reading Education from the University of Pittsburgh, her M.A. degree in Urban Affairs Studies from Jersey City State College, and her B.A. degree in Education from Fort Valley State College. A member of the Division of Humanities, Sackor has taught at ABAC since 1992.
Seagle has taught in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources since 1978. He holds a Ph.D. in Occupational Studies from the University of Georgia, an M.S. degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design from the University of Tennessee, and a B.S.A. degree in Horticulture from the University of Georgia.
Seela, who has been an ABAC faculty member since 1991, teaches in the Division of Science and Mathematics. He earned his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Indiana University and his B.S. in Chemistry from Iowa State University.
Kramer holds an M.S.Ed. in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Baylor University and a B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Northeast Missouri State University. He has taught in the Division of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation since 1993. Kramer also serves as the Director of Athletics and as men's tennis coach.
