LORRIE MORGAN TO PERFORM AT ABAC MAY 31
Country music superstar Lorrie Morgan will perform on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the 31st annual Dollars for Scholars Benefit Banquet and Show at Abraham Baldwin College.
Morgan's career took off with the 1989 release of Dear Me. With that record, as with those that followed, she combined passion and believability to carve a career that made her one of country music's biggest stars, releasing hit after hit and recording an impressive body of work.
Morgan, who has three platinum, one double platinum, and four gold albums, recently released her first Image Entertainment multi-format live recording, The Color Of Roses, on DVD, VHS, cassette, and a double CD set. The Color of Roses, filmed at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Theatre, is a vivid concert experience, which includes songs from her Secret Love album.
The Color of Roses follows Morgan's 2001 collaboration album, I Finally Found Someone, with her husband, Sammy Kershaw. The collection of mostly duets provided Morgan with an opportunity to get in touch with her inner writer, something she hopes to do more of in the future.
"Song writing is a great way of expressing myself, my heart, my fantasies--whatever it may be," Morgan said.
Morgan has blossomed into one of the most successful and consistent female artists on the country music scene today. As a vocalist, songwriter, musician, and performer, she's always fresh, exciting, and inspiring.
