Individual tickets for the Sept. 3 performance may be purchased at the door. The cost is $3 for adults and $1 for students. ABAC students are admitted free with ID.
The first concert in the series will feature the music faculty of ABAC. Don Coates, who has been a member of ABAC's faculty since the Fall of 1974, will perform the third movement from Bohrnstedt's Concerto for Trumpet and St. Louis Blues arranged by Paparelli. Wayne Jones, the Interim Director of the Abraham Baldwin Arts Connection and Director of Choral Music at ABAC, has been a faculty member since 1989. He will perform Richard Strauss' Vierlieder, opus 27.
Eugene Wyles joined the ABAC faculty as the Director of Bands after serving for 31 years as the band director at Worth County High School. He will perform Sonata in f minor (Allegretto Grazioso), opus 120, movement 1 for clarinet by Johannes Brahms and Nobody Cared arranged by Johnson and Linn for alto saxophone. Dr. Susan Kirby Roe is a temporary full-time instructor of music at ABAC. She will perform Gretchen am Spinnrade by Schubert and "O mio Babbino Caro" from Gianni Schicchi by Puccini. Becky Rogers is ABAC's class piano and private piano instructor as well as the accompanist for the concert choir. She will provide the piano accompaniment for Jones and Roe.
The daughter of Eugene and Gail Wyles of Sylvester, Sheri Wyles Grabowski is an adjunct professor of applied woodwinds at ABAC. She will perform Telemann's Sonata in F major, Meditation from the opera "Thias" by Massenet, and Carnival of Venice by Briccialdi.
The cost for season tickets for the entire series is $50 per person for adults and $15 for students 18 years old and under. This cost includes all six events in the Arts and Entertainment Series as well as the seven First Tuesday Series events.
