CHANEY WINS ABAC'S DONALDSON AWARD

          Tiffany Ryan Chaney of Fitzgerald received the highest honor presented to a graduating student from Abraham Baldwin College at Saturday's graduation ceremony. On behalf of the ABAC Alumni Association, ABAC President Mike Vollmer presented Chaney with the George P. Donaldson Award for outstanding scholarship and leadership.

          Donaldson served as president of ABAC from 1947 - 61. Chaney's award included a plaque and a check for $500 from the ABAC Ag Alumni Council.

          A total of 125 students participated in Saturday's ceremony, which was presided over by Vollmer. Ann Brown, a non-traditional graduate from Ashburn, served as the guest speaker.

          Chaney, an early childhood education major, served as president of the ABAC Ambassadors, providing leadership at the Sunbelt Expo, the Ms. ABAC Beauty Revue, and a variety of other events. She has been an officer and committee chair in the student chapter of the Georgia Association of Educators. For two years, Chaney was a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She was also selected for inclusion in Who's Who Among American Junior Colleges and Who's Who at ABAC. She compiled a 3.47 grade point average while at ABAC.
