PEGASUS WINS FIRST PLACE

Pegasus, Abraham Baldwin College's literary magazine, has won the First Place with Special Merit Award in the American Scholastic Press Association's annual magazine competition for the year 2000.

Pegasus is an annual magazine which includes poems, short stories, and photographs from ABAC students.

Judges praised the magazine as "an excellent publication that shows a great deal of time, energy, and talent by editors, writers, photographers, artists, layout designers, and advisors."

"Two thousand schools are involved in the contest, so a first place award means our magazine ranked at the top of a very impressive list of student publications," Humanities Division Chair Dr. Erin O'Neill said. "The Division of Humanities is very proud of the ABAC students, faculty, and alumni who worked to produce such a fine edition of Pegasus." Special recognition goes to Herbert Shippey, senior Pegasus advisor, and Rebecca Canaday of Moultrie, 1999 student editor.
