WHEELER NAMED MR. ABAC

          Derek Wheeler, a sophomore from Alma, won the Mr. ABAC title at the annual contest held recently at Abraham Baldwin College.

          Wheeler, a business administration major, is the son of Mike and Karen Wheeler. His college activities include baseball and Alpha Beta Gamma, which served as his sponsor for the competition.

          Other students placing in the top five were Thomas Chapman, a political science major from Tifton; Ben Kennedy, an agriculture education major from Collins; James E. Tate, Jr., an agriculture business major from Denton; and Jerrod Wall, a criminal justice major from McRae.

          Warren W. Smith, a forest technology major from Brunswick, was chosen by the other 27 contestants to receive this year's Contestant's Award.

          Other award recipients included Floyd Moon, a business administration major from Tifton who won "Best Personality," Tanner Clark, a wildlife technology major from Trenton who won "Prettiest Eyes," and Scott Barkley, an animal science/agriculture management major from Conyers who won "Funniest." Chapman won "Best Smile," and Kennedy won "Most Photogenic." These awards were given by members of the Family and Consumer Sciences Club.

          The Mr. ABAC Contest is sponsored, produced, and directed by the Family and Consumer Sciences Club.
