ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY INFORMATION SESSION SEPT. 27 AT ABAC

Natalie R. Knox, Coordinator of Off-Campus Programs at Albany State University, will conduct an information session at Abraham Baldwin College on Sept. 27 at 5:15 p.m. in Room 126A in the Carlton Center on the ABAC campus.

One purpose of the session is to provide information about the MBA degree. Students who have received a bachelor's degree in business may complete the requirements for the MBA through ASU by taking classes at ABAC. ASU has been offering classes toward the MBA at ABAC since 1990, and many local citizens have earned the degree.

Another purpose of the session is to target how many ABAC students are interested in pursuing the Early Childhood Education degree through ASU. Once students receive an associate degree from ABAC, they can move into the program at ASU and earn a bachelor's degree. Students can take their classes on the ABAC campus. Right now, this option is not available to students, but if there is enough interest, a Early Childhood Education program may be implemented.

"ASU is trying to provide educational services for students who want to pursue their education, but who may be unable to commit to the commute to our campus," Knox said. "We want to raise awareness of all of the opportunities available at ASU and provide the educational services that will help students achieve their goals."

Although the focus of this information session is on the MBA degree and the Early Childhood Education program, anyone who is interested in ASU is encouraged to attend. Applications for admission will be available, and general information about the university will be provided.

For additional information, contact Knox at (229) 430-4721 or Angie Palmer, ABAC's Director of Evening and Off-Campus Programs, at (229) 386-7154.
