CAIRO STUDENT WINS AG SCHOLARSHIP

          Teresa Avery, a sophomore at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, was recently awarded a $1,500 industry scholarship for 2000-01 from the Florida Nurserymen and Growers Association Big Bend Chapter (Florida Panhandle). Avery is a landscape design/grounds management and ornamental production major from Cairo.

          "Teresa is a very motivated student with identified career goals," Ed Seagle, Associate Professor of Environmental Horticulture, said. "She is very professional and is very active in the Horticulture Club."

          Avery worked as a student assistant in Environmental Horticulture during 1999-2000 and is currently working as a student assistant in the Horticulture Department at the Coastal Plain Experiment Station.
