ABAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM

VOLUNTEERS TIME WITH KIDS

The Abraham Baldwin College women's basketball players are each volunteering one hour a week this semester at Northside Elementary School for a community service project. The ABAC students work with the kids and also assist the teachers in any way they can.

Fillies' Coach Julie Conner said she thinks the volunteer work is a wonderful opportunity for ABAC players to give back to the community.

"It's a win/win situation," Conner said. "It's great for the players to work with the kids, and it's also great for the kids to interact with college students and athletes."

Mary Lee Henderson, an undeclared major from Tifton, said volunteering at Northside Elementary gives the team a chance to get to know the kids in the community and to serve as role models for them.

Jasmin Lee, a sociology major from Clewiston, Fla., said she enjoys working with the kids and participating in activities with them, such as coloring and painting.
