Kay Powell, assistant professor in the Division of Business Administration at Abraham Baldwin College, was recently appointed Interim Coordinator at ABAC on the Square in Moultrie. Dr. Bettie Horne, ABAC's Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, said Powell will fill the position until Sept. 1.
Powell's duties include advising new and returning students and answering any questions students may have about the upcoming fall semester. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 16.
Powell said she is pleased to be able to serve ABAC on the Square by offering her time and services.
"I appreciate this opportunity given to me by Dr. Horne and her confidence in my ability to handle this position in the interim," she said.
Lonnie Gibson, Facilities Coordinator at ABAC on the Square, continues to be there on a fulltime basis. Former evening program director and Moultrie coordinator Merle Baker retired June 30.
