ABAC STUDENTS AWARDED FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Five Abraham Baldwin College students were recently awarded ABAC Foundation Scholarships for the 2000-01 academic year through the Foundation Scholars Program.

The program provides scholarships to the top three honor graduates from eight local counties: Berrien, Ben Hill, Colquitt, Cook, Irwin, Tift, Turner, and Worth. If any of the top three students chooses not to attend ABAC, the scholarship is available to three of the top five graduates.

Nikki P. Carter, an undeclared major from Nashville; Christopher Gurley, a journalism major from Enigma; Mecca McIntyre, a nursing major from Irwinville; Keri Ann NeSmith, an undeclared major from Ashburn; and Jamie Stevens, a pre-med major from Ashburn, received scholarships in the amount of $1,650 to be divided equally among two semesters of attendance.

The scholarships cover tuition, health, activity, and athletic fees for two semesters of full-time enrollment provided the students maintain a 3.0 grade point average each semester. They are funded by the ABAC Foundation.
