Student Government Association Senator of the Year Michael J.
Austin enjoys meeting new people on the 421-acre campus of ABAC.
The political science major from Brunswick enjoyed his first year
at ABAC because it was the right distance away from home, allowing him to be
far enough away for independence but close enough for comfort.
“The best part of ABAC is making new friends and learning new
stuff,” Austin said. “ABAC was my college of choice because the small
teacher student ratio and hands on experience will give me the training I
need to succeed at a bigger university.”
Austin made the most of his time at ABAC by getting involved in the
Political Science Club, MASDA, Campus Activities Board, and the Student
Government. He was also the editor-in-chief of the student run literary
magazine, “Pegasus”.
He plans to finish his bachelor’s in political science degree and
then head to law school. Austin’s favorite quote is by Bruce Lee: “If you
always put the limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it
will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There
are only pleasures, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”
