Cofer Named
Outstanding New Advisor at NAAA National Meeting
TIFTON—Rebecca Cofer, Student Development Specialist at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, is one of five persons to be awarded national Outstanding New Advisor honors at the National Academic Advising Association (NAAA) meeting in San Antonio, TX.
“I
applied through the national organization by submitting a portfolio and was
then notified by e-mail and letter,” Cofer said.
Cofer
has been a part of the NAAA for three years doing everything from helping with
publications to doing presentations for the organization. She led two
presentations at this year’s meeting.
“The
first presentation I conducted was on tips for new advisors and the second was
on advising special populations, such as non-traditional students,” Cofer said.
Cofer
said she loves being a part of this organization, and it helps her to do a
better job of serving the students at ABAC.
