DALTON RESIDENT NAMED MR. BALDWIN 2009

TIFTON—Tom Lanier, a rural studies major from Dalton, has been selected by his peers as Mr. Baldwin 2009 at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC).

Lanier was one of seven students selected for Who’s Who at ABAC by a student-faculty committee. To be eligible for nomination, students must have completed at least 30 semester hours at ABAC with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. From that list, the students at ABAC voted for Mr. and Ms. Baldwin.  Whitney Conner, a nursing major from Rochelle, was named Ms. Baldwin.

Lanier is active in intramurals, was vice-president of the Residence Hall Association, and was vice-president of the ABAC Ambassadors. This year, Lanier logged over 80 hours of community service on behalf of the college for the Ambassadors.

Lanier was also named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges while at ABAC.

In order to be nominated to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, nominees must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and participate in extra-curricular activities on campus.
