LIFEGUARD TRAINING CLASS STARTS APRIL 17 AT ABAC

TIFTON—A Lifeguard Training course will be offered beginning April 17 through the Public Service and Business Outreach Center on the campus of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Pre-registration is required.

This class will take place Fridays - Sundays, April 17 – 26. Class will be held April 17 from 4 – 6 p.m.; Saturdays, April 18 and 25, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sundays, April 19 and 26, from noon – 6 p.m. The class will meet at the ABAC Pool, and there is a fee of $189 (includes Red Cross certification and materials fee).

This 30 hour class is a minimum requirement to become a lifeguard. Participants must be 15 years of age; able to swim 300 yards continuously; swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke starting in the water; and surface dive retrieving a ten pound object, and then swim 20 yards back to the starting point.
